Filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy met the actor at the World Economic Forum 2020 in Davos. She took to her Instagram to share a picture with the actor and commend her for being “a hero.”

Chhapaak is based on the true story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, with Padukone taking on her role. The film shows what the survivor goes through, from medical procedures to court hearings and one’s own’s emotional healing and growth.
