No intention to impose emergency in Karachi: Dr Firdous

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan says government is working on agenda to introduce reforms in institutions to improve their performance. 

Talking to a private news channel, she categorically stated that the government neither intends to impose emergency in Karachi nor topple the Sindh government.

She said people of Karachi gave Pakistan Tehreek Insaf votes for change and PTI wanted to resolve issues like drinking water, sewage and garbage of this city.

Firdous Ashiq Awan said that federal government wanted fair utilization of development funds in Karachi.

To a question, she said the government wanted to introduce reforms in Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as this institution is responsible to hold free and fair election in the country.
