LHC rejects bail petition of Saad Rafique

Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) dismissed bail petition of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader, Khawaja Saad Rafique

It is pertinent to mention here that Khawaja brothers’ post arrest bail petitions were pending before LHC division bench.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had alleged that Khawaja brothers launched Paragon City housing project through their “benamidars”.

The Paragon City was an illegal society and not approved by Lahore Development Authority.

Suspects along with other accomplices cheated public at large and obtained illegal financial benefits from funds of Society.

NAB, while revealing grounds for their arrest, had stated that Saad, in connivance with his wife Ghazala Butt, brother Salman, Qaiser Amin Butt and Nadeem Zia, started a housing project named Air Avenue. Later on, it was changed into Paragon City Limited.

The accused in connivance with Nadeem Zia and Qaiser Amin Butt defrauded large members of Society. They also embezzled illegal housing society projects funds for personal gains. The accused were collecting heavy amounts despite clear directions from Lahore Development Authority.
