PIA CEO urged to stop issuing death penalty letters

– By Nasir Mahmood

A group of the sacked employees’ have once again appealed to CEO, PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik to stop further issuance of illegal dismissals from service since his actions were becoming death penalty for affected people and their families.

There were two latest sad incidents reported among PIA management’s targeted degree based employees. First, the Duty Briefing Officer (DBO) Rubina Qureshi, a Senior Flying Crew member, who was genuine Degree holder but Management of PIA, dismissed her from service on fake allegations. In result, first her husband died due to cancer for not having hospital treatment because of dismissal of her wife. And now Rubina Qureshi was also paralyzed due to lack of proper treatment and medicines.

Another incident was death of Noor Ul Huda (Uniform Section) who was also the victim of fake Degree case. He was collapsed soon after receiving dismissal letter while it was last year of his service before retirement. Noor Ul Huda too was deprived of PIA medical facilities, while private hospital management refused to release his body until clearance of Rs 90,000 bills. Finally, Ex-DGM (Stores) Anees Ahmed Khan rescued and paid his dues but airline management did not bother to realize the fact.

It may be mentioned here that PIA (Pakistan International Airline) has been taken over by the officials of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) who will rule the organization in Uniform for at least next 3 to 4 years. Federal Government had approved the new management structure after flip flopping on the role of Air Marshal Arshad Khan.

According to information, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a high-level meeting, which was very surprisingly attended by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa, Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan as well as key ministers.

PTI government approved movement of key Air Force officials to PIA. The meeting also decided deputation of PAF officers to PIA for 3 years. These officers will perform duties in uniform during this period. It was also decided that a summary will be processed for positioning of 8 additional Armed Forces’ officers (4 from PAF and 4 from Pak Army) at PIA.

According to the new structure Air Marshal Arshad Malik who was appointed as CEO and President then notified that he is just acting CEO. His position will be advertised and after seeing the advertisement it was clear that it is tailor-made for him. So let’s assume he will stay as CEO for next 3 years.

Air Vice-Marshal Shoban Nazir Syed who joined as an advisor and was also serving as Chief Human Resource without any proper process will now take over as Director Precision Engineering Complex for 3 years till 11/02/2021. Air Vice-Marshal Noor Abbas will serve as Advisor to CEO for 2 years till 14/01/2020. No information what he will be advising on?
