Prime Minister, Imran Khan has taken notice of disgarcing journalist Sami Ibrahim by Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry on Monday.
According to Prime Minister (PM) House it said, “Government and media are two essential parts of democratic process,” and difference of opinions should not turn into personal conflict”.
According Office, Imran Khan by taking notice of matter spoke to journalist over a telephone call.
“The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf does not support any personal action [by its members] that hurts another person’s sentiments and self-respect,” PM House release quoted PM Khan as saying.
Last week, Ibrahim had reportedly filed a complaint at Mansoorabad Police Station in Faisalabad, accusing Chaudhry of slapping him at a wedding. A copy of complaint, that has been circulating on social media was retweeted by Ibrahim, alleged that Chaudhry had slapped and cursed him without any provocation.
He also accused Mr Fawad of threatening him.
Subsequently, Ministry of Science and Technology had issued a response, saying that “incident” should not be treated as a “clash between two institutions but as a conflict between two individuals”.
The statement added that Chaudhry had “reacted after another person tried to wound his self-esteem”.
