United States tops 25 million coronavirus infections

Hospitalizations peaked around then and have since fallen: The latest figure of 116,264 Covid-19 patients is the lowest since Dec. 21, according to the COVID Tracking Project.
Experts now fear that any signs of progress could be undone by the emergence of new variants that appear to be more contagious.
However the figures in the U.S. comes hot on the heels after President Joe Biden signed 10 executive orders aimed at expanding vaccine production, ramping up testing and reopening schools, among other goals.
“We didn’t get into this mess overnight, and it is going to take months to get it turned around,” Biden said.
“But let me be equally clear: We will get through this,” Biden continued. “We will defeat this pandemic.”
As of Jan. 23, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that that more than 3 million people in the United States are receiving both shots of the COVID-19 vaccine.
