The Government failed to organize international women’s day rather encouraged Aurat March with display of objectionable obscene slogans by NGOs which threatened law and order situation in the country.
Hashmat Habib President Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Adlia pointed out that Article-19 of the Constitution guaranteed freedom of speech and expression to every citizen but it is subject to reasonable restrictions imposed in the interest of glory of Islam or the integrity, decency and morality etc. He said under this right the western agenda holders NGOs are abusing it which may create disturbance.
Hashmat Habib said Article 37(g) put limitation regarding promotion of social justice and eradication of social evils including display of obscene slogans in addition to prevent prostitution, gambling and taking of injurious drugs all evils fall in the slogan such as ‘mera jism meri marzi’.
The senior lawyer of Supreme Court urged that remedial steps must be taken by Government and opposition parties jointly to ensure that women freedom wings of all political parties should take up this matter for women rights with decent slogans to secure the rights of women.
