With the aim of bringing talent of Pakistani artists forward, both established and emerging, Dubai is going to host the first Pakistan International Screen Awards (PISA), which is slated to take place on February 7, 2020.
The announcement was made recently in which UAE-based executive producer of the event, Faisal Khan, shared that diverse talent from Pakistan must be showcased on global platforms. â€œOver the last few years, Pakistan has been lucky and grateful to have come across such diversity in talent from both men and women,â€ said Faisal. â€œIt gives me great pleasure to have a platform to showcase the progress of our film fraternity and in a time and age of a digital world it is time to stand up for what one believes in. Patriotism is at an all-time high and we all canâ€™t wait to showcase our best.â€
Faisal Khan also went on to say that PISA will be a star-studded event which will not only include awards for film and TV artists but achievers in electronic and social media will also be honoured.
â€œWhile talks are currently on with the biggest stars of the country such as Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan and Saba Qamar, those who have already been locked in include Ayesha Omar, Ushna Shah, Hareem Farooq, Sarwat Gilani, Imran Abbas, Sheheryar Munawar, Jawed Sheikh, Umair Jaswal, Junaid Khan, Sara Loren, vlogger/musician Mooroo, Strings, Farhan Saeed and the Hocane sisters,â€ reported Gulf News, adding that host, actor and scriptwriter Vasay Chaudhry is also expected to participate in the event.
According to Masala! legendary actors such as Nadeem Baig, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Barbra Sharif, Shabnam and Ghulam Ali will be the recipients of Lifetime Achievement Award while performances of Iman Ali, Ayesha Omar, Bilal Saeed, Hareem Farooq and others will surely enthral the audience.
Saqib Malikâ€™s cinematic directorial debut, Baaji, which marked Meera Jeeâ€™s return to the big screen, rolled out on June 28, 2019.
