Islamabad: Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa will be made part of National Development Council (NDC).
In this context, Cabinet Division released a notification. NDC will be headed by Prime Minister, Imran Khan.
Some of key government members in council include Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Minister for Planning and Development, Khusro Bakhtiar and Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance, Dr Hafeez Sheikh.
The Council will aim at setting policies and strategies for development and provide guidelines for regional cooperation.
Besides it will also provide measures for local coordination and provincial chief ministers will also be invited to Council’s meetings.
In addition, members of Council will be tasked formulate and tailor policies to achieve accelerated economic growth, approve long-term planning for national and regional connectivity.
